How to make Laddu

Laddu is one of the famous Indian sweet. It is prepared for almost all festivals. It is a favorite for all age groups.


Ingredients:

Besan flour - 1 cup

Sugar - 1 cup

Water - 1/2 cup

Cashew nuts - 10

Raisins - 10

Powdered cardamom - 1 tablespoon


Preparation:

Take a bowl and add besan flour. Now add water to the bowl and make it like dosa batter.

Now turn on the flame and place a vessel. Add 1/2 cup water and 1 cup sugar to it. Allow it to boil. Check that the sugar syrup has achieved the one thread consistency. When it achieves that turn off the heat and keep that aside.

Now heat oil and place perforated spoon(jalli karandi) at a height little away from oil. Now pour the batter in the perforated spoon so it falls like boondhi in oil. Allow it to cook but don't make it too crisp then it will be difficult to shape the laddu.

Once boondhi's are done take out from oil and put that in sugar syrup. Repeat this till the batter is over.

Now roast cashews, raisins in ghee and add that with boondhi's and mix well.
Greece your hands with some oil or ghee and shape the boondhi mixture into laddoos. Once it is ready serve them.
